Following a 15-year career in the Royal Navy, with a break through into Cyber via BT, Buck then held several senior leadership roles at the Ministry of Defence\Central Government (Cyber Investigations, incident response, vulnerability management and Critical Infrastructure protection). He then joined the Bank of England, where he was Chief Information Security Officer and, latterly, Chief Security Officer (covering Cyber, Physical and Personnel Security); during this period, Buck designed the CBEST cyber testing program, for which he won a Bank of England Governors award. CBEST became the new standard for cyber "Purple" teaming - now used across UK finance and as a base for a range of international cyber testing standards and programs across a range of critical infrastructures.
